Save the Date! Harvest Fest is Back!
PS 87’s Harvest Fest will be held on Saturday, Oct 23 from 1-5 p.m. This annual fall tradition will take place outside on West 77th Street and in the Big Yard. We’ll come together and celebrate as a community with live music, arts, crafts, games, and a Halloween maze. Everyone is encouraged to come in costume!
Costume Swap – Drop off Gently Used Costumes
If Halloween costumes have been piling up under your beds, then this is the news you have been waiting for. Bring your gently used costumes to the drop-off box in the school lobby. At Harvest Fest, the costumes will be available to those that want them – for free!
Special Education Services Support Group
PS 87 parents run a support group for those of us whose children receive special education support services. This is a monthly meeting during which parents can ask questions, and share their experience and resources.
Our group’s goal is to foster an environment of compassion and openness. We’re looking forward to meeting you and spending time together. We held our first meeting on Friday, so stay tuned for upcoming meeting notices. Please email email@example.com with any questions!
Earn Money for PS 87 While Shopping!
Charleston Gift Wrap Fundraiser (Starting today):
Please support PS 87’s first fundraiser of the year – The Charleston Gift Wrap Drive. This is a virtual fundraiser for PS 87’s PA, during which we will be selling gift wrap and gifts. There are so many items to choose from, and two ways to shop – either through the school’s designated site, or register so that you are able to receive rewards like free rolls of wrap. Either way you decide, please share this fundraiser with family and friends – grandparents, cousins, next-door-neighbors – spreading the word about this fundraiser is a sure way to increase its success. The fundraiser will run until November 15, but if you are shopping for holiday, do not wait until the last minute to ensure timely delivery. See below for instructions on how to shop:
1) To register to earn rewards, go to www.charlestonwrap.com and click “Register Participant.” Our organization ID is 20759. From there, you can register yourself, shop and email friends and family for rewards.
2) To simply shop and support PS 87, click on this link and shop away! https://registercw.com/D6hQNeWS
Thank you for supporting PS 87!
Raise Money with Tea Collection (Starting Today):
Starting October 4, get 20% off of your Tea Collection order while also raising money for PS 87!
This promo code will be activated at midnight PST on Monday October 4, and valid through Sunday October 12. In order for PS 87 to earn the 15% donated back on each order, be sure to use this promo code below at checkout by entering it into the “Promo Box.” This is also required for you to get the 20% off your Tea order.
The unique promo code for PS 87 William T Sherman School is: SDF21PS87.
This is a special code created exclusively for fundraising for our community through teacollection.com. It’s not meant to be shared with coupon or deal sites. If our unique code is leaked, Tea will deactivate the code and we will not be able to participate in this fundraiser.
Shop using Amazon Smile:
We love our neighborhood shops and want to continue to support them, but if you are shopping on Amazon, please earn PS 87 money through the Amazon Smile program.
To enable: Open the Amazon app and find ’Settings’ in the main menu (☰). Tap on ‘AmazonSmile’ and follow the on-screen instructions to turn on AmazonSmile on your phone.
Shop the Grand Bazaar on Sundays and Support PS 87:
The Parents Association of PS 87 and two other local schools receive a portion of the profits of the Grand Bazaar, held in the O’Shea complex on Columbus between 76th and 77th streets. As you can imagine, COVID really hurt the Grand Bazaar but now it is back and shopping there is a great way to support our PA. Shop the incredible jewelry, Turkish towels, unique antiques, collectibles, and yummy food! Go to the link to check out all of the special events – Made in NYC, vintage day, Sweet Treats Day are just a few.
