For Our Kids

There will be great food, drinks, dancing and an opportunity to support our great school while scoring some fabulous items at the same time. The night will be capped off with a rockin' live set from PS 87's very own parent band, Metal Park! You don't want to miss it!

The funds we raise through the Auction allow us to provide our children with all the wonderful enrichment programs and extra resources they receive such as:

  • All the classroom assistants for kindergarten and 1st grade
  • Academic enrichment including math intervention and literacy programs
  • Recess coaches
  • Chess programs, ballroom dancing and yoga
  • Arts enrichment programs

Without the PA’s fundraising efforts, these programs would not be available to our kids!

What Is The Auction?

The annual auction is PS 87’s biggest fundraising event and will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2020. Our PS 87 community (parents, teachers, friends & family) comes together for a fun-filled evening that benefits all of our students.

Why Do We Do It?

PS 87 has flourished in large part due to our incredibly active and dedicated parent body. The Department of Education provides the essentials: the building, core teachers, administration, security and electricity.
The Parents Association pays for everything else including:

  • All of the classroom assistants for kindergarten and 1st grade.
  • Academic Enrichment: Boost Up Reading and Math Intervention, Upper Grade Literacy Program.
  • Arts Enrichment: National Dance Institute and ballroom dancing.
  • Field Trips: MoMA, Lincoln Center Jazz, among others.
  • Chess for 2nd & 3rd grades.
  • Recess Monitors.
  • Library Assistant.
  • Wellness Initiatives.
  • Last but not least, classroom supplies.

The proceeds from the auction represent half of the PA’s annual budget.

Help Us Plan!

We need volunteers to plan our event and to solicit for items to auction on the big day.

Items will be sold at live auction and silent mobile bidding auction.

Join the Party!

We are counting on you to come and mingle with your community.

What Can I Solicit or Donate?

PS 87 is lucky to have a generous and talented parent body. Consider your work and family connections for ideas. If there are businesses you frequent (restaurants, gyms, stores), ask if they can donate gift certificates or products. We’ve attached a comprehensive “wish list” to help you brainstorm on ideas to contribute!

We'll be accepting donations through March 5th...And speaking of donations, we have 2 contests this year!

If you have goods or services to be donated, please get your items in early! Each of your unique donations count will count as an entry (multiples count as ONE entry).

Two Contests This Year!

Early Bird Contest!

Get some (or ALL!) of your donations in by 9 pm on December 10th and be entered to win 1 of 3 gift cards to one of our local businesses! Winners will be announced at the General PA meeting on Friday, December 13th.

Most Donations Contest!

The person with the most unique donations submitted by 9 pm on March 5th wins two (2) free tickets to the event.
